Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear Drives Home Conservation with Local Partnerships and Community Engagement

WILMINGTON, NC - From trail rides to trash pickups, Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear is proving that adventure and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand. Through community-centered events, local partnerships, and continued support for conservation education, the dealership is making a lasting impact on the Cape Fear region.

On April 6, Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear hosted an exclusive Land Rover Owners' Day Event at Fort Fisher, bringing together Land Rover owners, expert guides from Carolina Overland Experience, and support from North Carolina Coastal Federation. While enjoying an off-road adventure through Fort Fisher Recreation Area, participants learned about the "Leave No Trace" overlanding philosophy-a core value in the dealership's approach to outdoor recreation. The event doubled as an educational opportunity and a rallying point for responsible trail use and coastal conservation.

"The primary benefits of these events are multifaceted," Richard Kim, General Manager of Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear, said. "They enhance skills, promote teamwork, inspire conservation efforts, and create lasting memories. We plan to host more off-road events to engage our community further and expand our efforts to promote local outdoor adventuring and environmental responsibility."

But Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear's investment in the environment doesn't end there. The dealership proudly sponsors the Plastic Ocean Project (POP), a local nonprofit focused on eliminating plastic pollution. Most recently, Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear helped POP enter the national spotlight by sponsoring its video submission to the Defender Service Awards, a Land Rover program honoring organizations committed to making a difference. The video, which highlights POP's mission and innovative ocean cleanup strategies, can be viewed here. POP made it to the final round and was awarded $17,500.

In addition, the dealership co-hosts "A Grateful Gathering," an annual community cleanup event in partnership with Plastic Ocean Project, held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Now in its third year, A Grateful Gathering draws volunteers from across New Hanover County to remove waste from local waterways and public lands, building community while protecting the environment.

"Our leadership team believes that the more successful we become, the more we can give back to the communities we serve and proactively protect the places we love to explore," Richard Kim said. "Through education, partnerships, and hands-on work, an important part of our mission is to build a culture of conservation."

As the dealership looks ahead to future events and collaborations, it continues to lead by example, driving awareness, responsibility, and impact in every direction.
